TEACHER CADET CONFERENCE COMPETITION

Each year at conference, Teacher Cadet classes participate in a team-building competition. Please carefully review with your TC class the guidelines as follows for this year’s Teacher Cadet Conference Competition BEFORE attending the conference.

Teacher Cadet classes will be asked to create a product that represents a generalization from the theme of the conference, “ish-FULL THINKING!”

Rules:

1.Teacher Cadet Teachers and students will have one hour to create a product based on an open-ended idea. At the end of the hour, products will be collected and displayed. A written explanation of your interpretation with reasons for choices must accompany the product. Paper will be provided and must accompany the product.

2.Classes should bring craft supplies (scissors, glue, markers, creative decorations etc.) Teacher Cadet Conference will have limited supplies available for use.

3.A rubric will be used to evaluate each product and is provided for your review.

Judging Criteria

Each category below will be judged: A) Proficient, B) Developing, C) Emerging, D) No Evidence

1. Develops a creative and meaningful representation of the theme presented through the product.

2.Justifies the selection of evidence/support in the product through written interpretation.

3.Utilizes a variety of creative means of expression to represent the theme through the product and written interpretation..

Considerations:

1.Product must show a progression of understanding and interpretation of the theme.

2.Written interpretation should justify choices and clearly represent the group’s thought progression.
