TC TEACHERS / FTA ADVISORS: Please carefully read the following regarding changes surrounding our annual 2010 Regional Overnight Conferences. Links to Teacher and Student Registration Forms are at the bottom of this page. MAKE SURE YOU READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING ANY REGISTRATION.
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: February 1, 2010 – NO EXCEPTIONS
This year, in lieu of the annual State Conference in Raleigh, Teacher Cadet will host four regional JOINT conferences for Teacher Cadets AND FTA Students. The conferences will be held at the following campuses on the dates by them. The registration and adjournment times listed are for BOTH Teacher Cadets and FTA:
UNC Wilmington: February 26-27, 2010
(Registration begins at UNCW Friday, Feb 26 at 9:00 AM - Adjourns Saturday, Feb 27 at 11:00 AM)

EVERY TEACHER AND STUDENT ATTENDING A REGIONAL CONFERENCE MUST SUBMIT AN ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM (Links at bottom of this page.)
EVERY TEACHER PLANNING TO BRING A GROUP OF STUDENTS TO STAY OVERNIGHT IN THE HOTEL MUST COMPLETE THE “HOTEL ROOM ASSIGNMENT” FORM LINKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.
Please plan to attend the conference closest to your high school. Should you have a conflict with the date of the conference in your region and desire to attend another conference, Teacher Cadet will make exceptions on an individual basis based on space available. You will need to get approval by the Teacher Cadet Director before registering for a conference that is not closest to you.
Each conference will be able to accommodate 180-200 students. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
FTA: Due to space limitations, we will only be able accommodate 8 FTA students per high school.
All conferences are designed around the same theme and will be very similar. Logistics differ for each conference (hotels, begin and end times, etc) and it is important you carefully read the details for the conference you will be attending. AGENDAS AND SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR EACH CONFERENCE WILL BE POSTED ONLINE BY THE END OF JANUARY.
COSTS:
Hotel and meals during the conference will be covered by the NC Teacher Cadet Program.
TEACHER CADETS: $10 refundable deposit per student should be mailed by the posted deadline date. Checks will be returned at the conference registration upon students’ attendance. It is non-refundable otherwise.
FTA: There is a $15 per student fee for all FTA members.
** DO NOT COMBINE TEACHER CADET DEPOSITS AND FTA PAYMENTS. YOU NEED TO SEND SEPARATE CHECKS

One vehicle per school will be refunded 25 cents per mile (roundtrip). Mileage forms will be available at the conference for you to complete, and a mileage check will be mailed to your school designated for your school’s Teacher Cadet Program.
One thing that is different from the state conference: BUS DRIVERS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRANSPORT STUDENTS AND TEACHERS BACK AND FORTH FROM THE CONFERENCE AND HOTEL FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING
Expected attire for Friday night’s dinner is dressy but not formal (No jeans, and guys must wear collared shirts.)
Teachers/Advisors are responsible for ALL students they bring AT ALL TIMES, including recreational activities.
REGISTRATION FORMS:
•There are separate registration forms for each conference.
•There is a TEACHER and STUDENT registration form for each conference.
•Make sure you complete the CORRECT registration form.
Due to deadlines set forth by conference coordinators, registrations and payments submitted after deadline WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCES.
FTA IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Your FTA chapter must be current on annual dues in order to participate. If you have not already paid those, you may find information on the Teacher Cadet website by clicking on the FTA link.
There will be special times designated for FTA business sessions at each regional conference. Please be sure to have your FTA students registered in time to attend the FTA meetings. FTA meeting times at the conferences will be:
UNC Wilmington: Friday, Feb 26 – 9:30 am
UNC Charlotte: Friday, Mar 5 – 1:15 pm
East Carolina: Saturday, Mar 13 – 12:00 noon
Appalachian: Friday, Mar 26 – 12:15 pm
FTA COMPETITIONS: This year regional winners will be chosen for Outstanding Chapter, Outstanding Member, Multimedia Contest, and Scrapbook Contest. State winners will be named for Outstanding Chapter and Member.
STUDENT CODE OF ETHICS
Teachers: Please print the Student Code of Ethics form by clicking HERE. Each student and their parent/guardian must complete and sign the form. Please mail the completed forms with the student registration checks in order to complete your registration process which must be postmarked NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 8, 2010.
CELL PHONES will not be permitted during the conference at general assemblies, breakouts, or dinner. Any student using one during these times will have their phone taken by any member of the Teacher Cadet staff and given to the Teacher Cadet Director until the end of the conference.
