Requirements to attend the Teacher Cadet Training and become a Teacher Cadet teacher include:

~ An individual must hold a clear Standard 2 North Carolina license and be an active employee of a North Carolina LEA.

~ The individual must complete the 15-hour required new Teacher Cadet teacher training and receive the curriculum. Training is offered 2-3 times each year and are conducted at the NCAE Center in Raleigh, NC.

~ Individuals receiving the training must be actively engaged in teaching the Teacher Cadet course in a North Carolina public high school.

~ All teacher applicants must have the approval of their current administrator in order to be eligible for the training. While recommending a teacher(s) for the training does not guarantee a high school will have the program, it should be a strong indication of their commitment to establish one.
